Panama City Beach has been named a top 25 most popular U.S. destination overall, according to an annual trend report from travel website Tripping.com. More specifically, Panama City Beach landed the number 5 spot, ahead of neighboring destination Pensacola Beach (20) and behind closer neighbor Destin (2). New York topped the list.
According to the report, the average rental price in Panama City Beach is $195, making our beach still one of the most affordable destinations in all of the United States.
PCB was also named fourth in top beaches based on search data from the site.
While the website saw an increase in searches for urban markets such as New York City, beaches are the most popular vacation destination, the report said.
Looking ahead to 2018, the site predicts that lake destinations will rise in the New Year but southern beaches will continue to gain popularity.
