Panama City Beach\’s claim to be a top leisure destination in Florida and across the United States is ringing true, at least with TripAdvisor participants.
Travel site TripAdvisor recently named Shipwreck Island Waterpark No. 11 on its list of U.S. Travelers’ Choice water parks.
Winners were rated by the quantity and quality of reviews posted to the site during a 12-month period.
The top five parks were all located in Orlando – which to many, would make sense, as Orlando is Florida\’s top leisure destination (think Disney). But others ranked on the list hailed from places including Indiana and Williamsburg, Virginia.

Shipwreck Island, located at 12201 Hutchison Blvd., is open 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily during the summer.
